Want an easy life? Follow three simple steps.
All the personal and professional development books/webinars/podcast/workshops/etc. follow the same 3-step process (trust me, I’ve read most):
- You deserve more than your life is currently delivering.
- This isn’t fair because everyone should have everything they want (wealth, perfect family, etc.).
- If you follow a new process, you can “fix” this unfairness.
People find this approach so appealing because it promises a pain-free life. It implies that with enough effort, you can eliminate all anxiety, worry and frustration.
As you should know by now, this simply isn’t true.
Life isn’t fair and it will be filled with crap you’d rather avoid.
Your goal isn’t the elimination of pain, but rather the acceptance that not every day will be as wonderful as you were hoping.
For all of you overachievers out there, this isn’t giving up or quitting.
Instead, it’s the healthiest approach for dealing with life’s inevitable ups and downs.
