The gift of looking back is simple: it reveals most clearly whether our time was spent on the people and things that mattered most.

I spent this past weekend in Illinois celebrating my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday.
We ate lots of homemade food, watched a little TV, and laughed a bunch (largely at my expense).
No one felt the need to be entertained every moment.
We simply enjoyed one another’s company.
It was as close to perfect as a weekend could be.
We can’t be all things to all people. But we can commit to making time for those that matter most.
Time goes fast, my friends; make sure you prioritize well.
