As an empty nester, I find myself feeling something I couldn’t have imagined a few years ago… boredom.
<>
No longer are my days filled with shuttling kids between practices or attending school events.
Now, I find myself looking at an empty weekend and wondering, “How will I fill my time?”
I’m considering taking up a few new hobbies so I can return to being “busy”.
Being busy is the only thing I know, and looking at any afternoon without any plans feels uncomfortable.
And like most people, I’ll do anything to avoid discomfort.
Which makes me wonder… instead of filling my days with activities, what if I instead learned to sit with my boredom?
Maybe it’s healthier to embrace the uncomfortable?
