We all feel anxious from time to time.
Over the years, I’ve tried everything to avoid feeling that frantic panic that comes from being out of control.
Here’s what I’ve learned: fighting it makes it worse.
You cannot keep thoughts or emotions from coming to your mind. But you can control what you do with them. The key is pulling yourself back to the present. And nothing is more present than the body.
Go for a walk. Exhale. Stretch. Look out a window.
Do whatever you need to do to remember that you are not your frantic thoughts or emotions.
You may not be able to choose your emotions. But you can choose what you do with them.
