When was the last time you changed your mind on an important issue?
(Deciding that mayonnaise is OK on your sandwich doesn’t qualify as “important”.)
If you can’t remember, you might be spending too much of your reading/viewing time in an echo chamber hoping to reinforce a belief system.
It’s all right to have a strong set of opinions.
However, the surest way to more stressful and strained relationships is to assume you’ve got everything figured out.
Plus, I’m fairly certain no one wants to hear you preach about your issue over and over again. (I’m still learning this lesson – just ask my family.)
The next time you feel the desire to share your opinion, try this crazy idea instead – listen and be genuinely curious.
