Every January 1, most overachievers set themselves up for failure.
<>
I don’t have any resolutions or a “word of the year” for 2026.
I think these concepts are silly and mostly set people up for failure.
Having said that…
There is a skill I’m focused on (borderline obsessed with) improving in the next 12 months.
Living in the now.
When we’re not multitasking, overachievers tend to obsess over the past or worry about the future.
We assume that this constant activity improves our ability to achieve and be more “successful”.
While the racing mind might lead to a few more accomplishments, it keeps us from experiencing life.
All this achievement feels meaningless if we never enjoy any of the effort.
Stop chasing contentment and return to the only place where it exists – the now.
