Leading in uncertainty
I’ve had to answer the following questions far more than I would like over the past several months:
Should I furlough part of my staff?
Is it OK to cut salaries to help save cash?
How do you know when it’s time to lay off employees?
Everyone is wondering. Worried. Afraid.
This is normal.
Your job as a leader isn’t to eliminate this fear.
Your job is to remind your team (and yourself) of the truth:
Even amidst a pandemic, there are things we can control.
Work hard.
Improve yourself.
Be gracious toward others.
