Numbers provide a sense of precision that I find comforting.

As a result, I love looking at financials, building forecasts and analyzing most issues with a spreadsheet.

However, not everything can be measured. In life, the space between black and white is filled with lots of gray.

I used to believe that with enough planning it was possible to eliminate the uncertainty of the gray areas in life.

It’s now clear that this approach was like trying to push a giant boulder up a steep hill.

Life is unpredictable and always will be.

Joy comes from embracing this truth.
