You can’t do it all

No matter what well-meaning parents, teachers, coaches, etc. have told you throughout the years, you can’t do “anything you set your mind to.”

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but until we recognize that our skills, time, and capacity are finite, we’ll be endlessly frustrated.

In his book, You’re Only Human – How Your Limits Reflect God’s Design and That’s Good News, Kelly Kapic, rightly reminds us:

“Even when we run into our inevitable limits, we often hang on to the delusion that if we just work harder, if we simply squeeze tighter, if we become more efficient, we can eventually regain control.”

The good news is that once you embrace your limits, you feel better about being human.

No longer do you negatively compare your accomplishments to others, seeing every one of your flaws as fatal.

Even better, embracing your limitations allows you to focus and develop your unique capabilities.
