“When we return, why it’s not safe to go in the water anymore on vacation…”
I made the mistake of flipping through the channels the other day and caught CNN going to commercial with the above teaser.
Really? It’s not safe to go in the water anywhere on your summer vacation?
Unfortunately, in a word filled with numerous 24-hour news stations competing for our limited attention, they resort to the only two strategies that have any chance of keeping our attention:
- Fear
- Anger
Keep that in mind the next time you flip on the TV or peruse your favorite news station’s web feed hoping to get a reasonable update of what’s going on in the world.
Save yourself the angst. Read a newspaper.
