It’s not unusual for me to meet a successful professional and leave the conversation wondering, “Why didn’t I do that for a living?”
I know I’m not the only one.
At some point, we all suffer from the “grass is greener” syndrome, looking at others’ lives and assuming they’re better than our own.
We envy everything, from career choice to home, hair, and even vacations.
When I find myself drifting into the world of comparison, I’m reminded of Brene Brown’s words… “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”
In a world filled with marketing messages highlighting all that we “deserve”, it’s challenging to get comfortable in our own skin.
The foundation of joy is accepting our current path and the unique road that brought us to this point.
