In 2017, I lost both my parents within a 5-month period.
As you can imagine, the grief was intense. (And at times, it still is.)
As difficult as the sadness, despair, and frustration were, the emotions I felt from their deaths were nothing compared to the emotions I have felt from a difficult episode of severe anxiety and depression.
Because Simon Biles had the courage to share her issues, we’ve watched the media (especially social) focus on mental health.
A clinical mental health problem can be debilitating and make the simplest tasks (sitting in a meeting) feel overwhelming.
However, the good news is that science has made some amazing progress in treating these issues over the past 25 years.
If you’re struggling, here’s what I know to be 100% true – you will feel better, this will pass.
