Here’s a hard truth for all those overachievers working late nights and early mornings to “get caught up.”
<>
Have you ever worked late into the night, over your lunch break, or on the weekend, hoping to get “caught up”?
We’ve all done it, believing that with enough effort we can get our inbox to zero, check everything off our “to-do” list, and think strategically about the future.
As you’ve probably figured out on your own, this logic is flawed.
The truth is, no matter how many hours you work, there will always be more to do.
Embracing this truth can be liberating.
More importantly, accepting the “I will never get caught up” reality will help you develop a habit critical to your success – deciding what’s most important.
Remember, the goal is never to outwork everyone else. Rather, it’s to make progress towards the weekly/daily objectives that bring you closer to your goals.
