To find joy, Overachievers tend to focus their efforts on tasks and recognition. The problem is the approach just doesn’t stick.

As long as you have the means to provide for your basic necessities, you can be as content as anyone on the planet.
The key to your satisfaction and happiness past that point is directly related to the quality of the relationships with the people you love.
We all could use a little help in that area, so here’s a quick exercise to get you started:
- Select at least three extremely important relationships that today don’t get as much attention as you would like.
- Brainstorm and list two different strategies for strengthening each of these bonds and expressing gratitude.
As you do this, remember that there are only so many hours in the day.
In other words, don’t overdo it.
The action isn’t nearly as important as the heart with which it is done.
