Overachievers teach themselves that if they try hard enough, they can do anything they set their mind to. That pattern of thinking couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s easy to scroll through any of our social accounts and wonder, Why am I not doing/achieving more?
We think…. I should be writing a book, climbing a mountain, buying a boat, or even skydiving!
Every time we notice the gap between what we could be doing/achieving and our current life, it’s easy to feel like we’re living below our capabilities and leaving something on the table.
When this happens to me, I’m reminded of the wise words from the philosopher Walker Percy – “Lucky is the man who does not secretly believe that every possibility is open to him.”
Despite what you may have seen in a motivational poster, you can’t do it all.
There are limits on what we’re able to accomplish each day, and these limits require us to choose.
Focus on what matters most to you and let go of comparison.
