“No matter what gets done or doesn’t get done, I am enough”—Brene Brown
Yesterday, I stumbled across this quote from Brene Brown. I’ve read it dozens of times over the years and always appreciated its simple truth.
However, as I recently reflected on its message, I had a different thought – “Do I believe it?”
Do I truly believe that I’m a unique and valuable individual regardless of the sum of my achievements?
Honestly…. Some days yes and others no.
Can you relate?
Overachievers have this fear that unless we’re actively delivering value, we’re unworthy.
This fear causes us to fill our calendars and “to-do” lists ensuring that we’re impressing our peers, family, and friends.
It can be exhausting.
Maybe the key to a healthier life is slowing down and accepting that what makes us special has nothing to do with how busy we feel every day.
