Overachievers sometimes teach themselves that the real value is in a single giant change that dramatically changes their trajectory in one move.

I just completed a 100-day course discussing one of my favorite topics – gratitude.
I’d love to say that my outlook has completely changed and that my days of complaining about trivial matters are in the rearview mirror.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
However, the lessons did make a difference.
I’d venture to say that I feel about 10% more grateful than I did before the course.
That might not seem like much, but it’s a meaningful shift in perspective.
I’m now quicker to replace “I have to” with “I get to,” and I’m convinced that this small tweak repeated dozens of times each day is an important improvement.
Many times, we assume that anything less than a 100% change in behavior is a failure. As a result, we often quit after a small stumble in the journey.
Instead of choosing frustration, embrace this truth:
Life is measured by tiny changes over long periods of time.
