The personal development industry (of which I am a card-carrying member) is obsessed with the idea that every problem in our lives can (and should) be fixed.
<>
This focus has led to thousands of amazing books, podcasts, and seminars delivering significant benefits.
However, there’s a problem with this approach.
Because of the endless offerings, we’ve been conditioned to believe that if we haven’t utilized one (or more) of them to manage time, lose weight, or master AI, we’re broken and different from everyone else.
The truth is that life will consistently deliver problems to each of us that aren’t fixable.
For overachievers, this is unsettling because we’re obsessed with control.
The sooner we embrace our flaws and learn to “sit with them,” the closer we get to the ultimate goal – peace with what is here now.
