Caught feeling fear after reading the headlines? Relax. It happens. Here’s what to do next.
<>
Over the weekend, I read a long article about the future that left me a little rattled.
After finishing, I wondered…
Is there anything I can do about this upcoming challenge?
The answer was clear.
I could think of no preparation/planning/behavior that would mitigate any future risk.
Yet, I still chose to worry.
Fear is a powerful emotion. It causes us to endlessly overanalyze potential “what if” scenarios.
We assume (despite the evidence to the contrary) that with enough examination, every situation can be controlled.
This is nonsense. Life is uncertain.
It’s OK to be afraid, but once we recognize our own ability (or lack thereof) to alter the outcome, we need to let it go.
