In Pursuit of Awe

Is pursuing moments of wonder a gigantic waste of time (money), or the key to discovering what you’ve actually been chasing this whole time?

I’ve been challenged to look for more awe in my world.

When I think of this word, it’s hard for me to imagine finding it while sitting in my office in central Indiana.

However, the practice has led to a surprising revelation.

If you slow down long enough, you can find awe almost anywhere.

As I write this message, I’m amazed at how much beauty I notice in the light dusting of snow on a tree outside my window.

I’ve looked at this tree for more than 6 years and never once seen anything that made me stop and stare.

Yet today, after only less than a minute of quiet concentration, I find myself in awe of the seemingly ordinary.

A good reminder that how you see is what you see.
