Overachievers can sometimes get so caught up in the “to-do” list that we can lose sight of what matters around us.

Many years ago, one of my mentors pointed out that “How you see is what you see.”
I was reminded of these wise words a few weeks back, while driving downtown.
I was in a bit of a rush and found myself caught behind a city bus. My frustration grew with every stop the bus made to pick up/drop off a passenger.
After a few minutes and several stops, my irritation boiled over a bit, and I started to pound the steering wheel like a petulant baby.
The next thing I noticed was a frustrated woman coaxing three 3-young kids to get off the bus and follow her down the street.
There I was, sitting in a warm car, throwing a fit at my commute being extended by 5 minutes.
I quietly wondered, “What if I had to take the bus today?” How long would that have extended my travel time?
Perspective is everything.
Our goal is to keep it in check.
