Overachievers teach themselves that, as long as they have the right mindset, they can achieve anything. There’s just one small problem with that….
<>
Many years ago, my mentor asked me what was more important: attitude or behavior.
I immediately responded with “attitude,” thinking that as long as I had the right mindset, I would do just about anything.
Most people agree with this line of thinking.
Guess what?
We’re all wrong.
Focusing exclusively on your attitude can lead to the following approach to life:
“I’ll wait to do that thing (behavior) – until I feel like doing it (attitude).”
Some days you won’t feel like doing anything. Attending a meeting, going to the gym, or working on a presentation will all seem awful.
On these days, no amount of positive affirmations will change a thing. When this happens to you (which it will regularly), you have one option – behave.
This movement eventually changes your attitude.
