As overachievers, we can unknowingly chase approval. Are you aware of who’s steering your life?

Recently, I wondered how much different life would be if I cared less about impressing others.
 
Would I work as hard? Spend more time helping those who are less fortunate? Stress less about the little things?
 
This exercise challenges me to wonder – Am I living out my unique story or spending too much time watching others?
 
Each time I consider this question I typically land on the same answer… “I’m not sure.”
 
Although at times this uncertainty is frustrating, I recognize that it’s part of being human.  
 
Life is an uncertain journey to be explored, not a puzzle with pieces fitting perfectly into position.
