Sometimes the complex problems facing our world (both local and international) seem overwhelming and impossible to solve.
That doesn’t keep an overachiever from myself like trying.
I’m convinced that if I just read the right book or join another board, I can magically find the solution and fix the situation.
It rarely works the way I envision.
Right about the time I feel like giving up and throwing in the towel, I run into a bit of wisdom that shifts my perspective and gives me hope.
This week it came from one of my all-time favorite authors David Brooks:
“I’ve come to believe that the quality of our lives and the health of our society depends, to a large degree, on how well we treat each other in the minute interactions of daily life.”
It’s a good reminder that small gestures can change the world.
