Some of my favorite things include…
- Enjoying a nice meal at a crowded restaurant
- Connecting with friends at church every Sunday
- Going to the movies
Just about every day, I hold a (poorly attended) pity party for myself because these activities are no longer a part of my life.
Then, I remember that life could be much worse.
It’s critical, and extremely difficult, to keep things in perspective.
When you find yourself complaining that life isn’t fair, it’s important to be intentional about all that’s going right in your world.
On the bottom of my “to-do” list, I write “Gratitude.” Throughout the day, I jot down very specific items that are a blessing (e.g. “my office has heat”).
A subtle shift in your mindset makes a world of difference.
