Stop chasing happiness. Start practicing presence.
<>
Making the shift from chasing happiness toward embracing presence doesn’t mean we stop setting goals or striving for success.
Rather, it means we do so with a different mindset — one that prioritizes the experience over the outcome.
It’s about finding joy in the process, in the act of living, rather than pinning our hopes on a future state of happiness.
So, how do we make this shift?
Start by turning your mind toward mindfulness every day. Here are a few ways:
- Breathe deeply. Just three full breaths between meetings will be a game-changer.
- Observe your surroundings, and tune into your thoughts and feelings. Name them. Then let them go.
- Practice gratitude for the present moment.
- Gently remind yourself that life is happening now, not later.
